We are a ll blessed to have you in our lives offering advice & wisdom to myself & your 2 nephews Tristram&Dion be it from camping trips,water skiing or football you guided them along the path.It was a pleasure to be able to spend the day with on friday, something that I will treasure for life, go to your next journey Toe-Knee & kick goals up there.

Uncle Boof ! A great man with a full heart ! Thankyou for the life lessons and memories! The constant support and all the things you’ve had our back for (good and bad) ! Rest easy up there !

Uncle Tony (Boof) so many wonderful memories over the years. I remember going to watch you as a kid playing footy for Greta with you going in full steam ahead for the ball and also the first one to hit the deck wanting a free kick haha. I was fortunate enough to see you only a few weeks ago and like always we end up getting off track and end up talking crap. I know you’ll be watching down looking after Sharon and the kids/grandkids. As an older with 11 years between our ages you were the best.

I can’t believe we will never see each other again.
I can only look back on the times and experiences
we had and relive those memories.
The fondest memories of course are on a footy field and playing for the same club for 3 years.
Remembering in 1999 all traveling together in the same car on our way to play in a preliminary final together alongside Cammo an Kane and listening to to the footy wrap where they were commenting on why they thought our team were going so well throughout the year.
They believed it was because there were 4 sets of brothers in those teams that were playing for each other.
After mentioning the other sets of brothers they then said and now we get to to best of all the
GLEESON GANG then saying that they run in a gang and play for each other.
Well the car nearly exploded and we nearly run ourselves off the road.
But when I think of this now they were right…we did play for each other and looked out for each other.
I cherish those years because that’s when we really got to know each other as brothers and as
a Pearson’s.
Your talent on the footy field speaks for itself with countless B & Fs and league B&Fs which made you a very successful coach to many clubs.
Your love for your children was beautiful and try to emulate with my own children.
You met your match when you married Shazz and had some very happy years together,you complemented each other.
I will love you always as will my children.

Tony my love, not a day went by without a phone call (or 5) just to see what each other was doing, letting each other know that we had made our destination, sending each other pictures of what was for tea when we where not together or a message to say love you ???????? (each day).
We knew what each other was thinking, made decisions together or you saying “you decide Shaz I’m happy with whatever you decide”, supported each other in everything that we did, proud of each other’s achievements. So much I will miss.
One thing we always said was we would never go to sleep without a good night kiss or without telling each other “I love you”.
All of our children & grandchildren where your pride and joy. You will always be driving that boat, taking all the kids for a ride, teaching them how to ski, knee board.
Not a day will go by without me thinking of you, missing you, whispering I love you.
I miss your smile, I miss your laugh, I miss your smell, I miss your touch, I miss your hugs and kisses, I miss everything about you. I know you are with each step of the way, walking beside me holding my hand.

Dear Tony,
The pain of losing you so early in your life is so unfair, especially so soon after losing our brother Mark.
The memories of growing up in our Chaotic home with 6 brothers plus a halfway house for all their mates makes me smile.
The arguments over whose turn it was to wash or dry the dishes and who stole who’s socks or undies was usually a daily ritual.
The many apple cores I would find under your bed when I was made clean your room, although I was never sure if they were all yours or were stashed there by our brothers.
Probably the latter.
And you and your mates overflowing the bath when you lived above a newsagent with the water seeping through the floor and flooding the stock in the store.
I remember when your baby daughter Laura was born you woke me up by knocking on my window and then sang “ my baby’s got blue eyes. You were so so proud.
Being a dad was your greatest achievement, your girls and Jarrod were your pride and joy and you became a wonderful grandfather.
You also were adored by your many nieces and nephews which is very evident with the many loving tributes they have written to you.
True love doesn’t come to everyone in life but you were fortunate you found that with Sharon , the love of your life.
We will all look out for Sharon and your family always.
I am grateful for the time I spent with you over the past few weeks, it meant a lot to both of us. I will remember the conversations we had always.
You faced your brief illness with such strength and were very brave.
I am so proud of you and all the beautiful memories you left for all of our families and your many friends.

You brought me into this world you loved me cared for me and always made sure I was ok. You showed me how to love someone with all my heart. You taught me how to take a joke & kick a footy, I will hold all our memories close to my heart. When I found out you were sick it killed me to know you had to go through this and didn’t deserve it. I was scared for you and I was scared of losing you and didn’t know what I’d do without you here, I still go to call you to say hi and tell you I love you. I’m so glad I got to spend the last few days by your side and I was with you till the end. I still can’t believe you have left me. I will never forget how much love you had for our girls they were your world & you were theirs. They will be forever grateful for all you did for them, you taught them how to ski and kneeboard and ride motor bikes. I miss you always and you will always have a piece of my heart. The only regret I have is not getting the chance to tell you you were going to be a pop again make sure your always by our side watching over us like you always have. From day dot you took me and my kids in to your family like your own showed them what a grandfather looked like you would drive the boat all day long just to make your kids smile you cared not for yourself only for their happiness. You were the instigator of family gatherings camping trips and fun get aways it was the best times spent around a fire having a scotch and watching the kids run around the caravan parks thinking this is the life right here together. We were very competitive at times and admittedly I didn’t enjoy it at the time but now I miss our heated card games the most because it was all in good spirit and we both were sore losers . I definitely feel the size of your boots ???? moving forward in life now Making sure I’m being the man your little girls look up to making sure I take them on the camping adventures you had done to many times before making those forever memories. I felt privileged to be in your life for the time I had with you. You called a spade a spade even if no one agreed you paved your own path. You were a tough nut I thought nothing could stop you taking on life. I’ll promise to always look after laura and the girls and always make sure to look after Shaz is too because she’s like the mother I wish I had. Rest In Peace old mate we love ya

To say I’m going to miss you is a bloody understatement dad. The last week has been the hardest week of my life and I never imagined I would have to say goodbye to you so soon. I keep waiting for my daily call to see how we all are but the phone just wont ring:( Life is so bloody cruel sometimes and you never deserved what you have endured in such a short time.

You have been my absolute rock throughout my whole life and no words will ever be enough to express how much I love and appreciate you. Life will never be the same without you in it dadio.
When I lost you I also lost a part of me. Thank you for the countless camping trips, days on the water skiing and for being there for me and my boys any time of the day and night.

Tyeler and Judd are so very blessed to have had THE BEST pop that would drop anything for them. Judd will be reminded everyday of what a GREAT pop you were and how much of a legend you were to all around you. I have to give a special heartfelt thank you for the way you have helped me mold Tyeler into the young man he is today, and thank you for passing on your footy skills to him, coz we all know it was from you, and you were never afraid to say what a great footy player you were without being asked!!!!

Wherever you went there was smiles and laughs. You looked after Dion and I as we grew up and then probably led us astray a bit once we were older! A genuine good bloke who’d give you the shirt off his back if it was the last one he had. Thanks for being there for all of us, Dad, Mum, Dion, Myself and all of the extended Gleeson family. I’ll always have fond memories of our times together and I hope one day I’ll have someone like you to help my kids see the best parts of life just like you did.

Celia will miss you a lot as well, she always enjoyed a great laugh with you and doesn’t know who will talk a Queenslander through the great game of AFL anymore!
