Dear Russell, thank you for all the great memories and love you gave me, my Mum (your partner) Andrina, and my kids Julian, Benjamin, Damien and Harrison. Julian and Benjamin, who you affectionately called Jackson and Muldoon the Glut (yes, Ben loved his food) grew up around you during their younger years and deeply appreciated your guidance, kindness, generosity and love. Always the story teller, always there with a joke and a laugh. Never ever a dull moment. Worked bloody hard for everything you achieved. Everything gained was appreciated and you never took anything for granted. Certainly one of a kind and although you were as tough as nails, you were so kind hearted within. Thanks again for all the memories, you’ve inspired me more than you know. Rest In Peace, you’ll be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Love always Gary

To Bianca, Adam, Mia, Jai and Tyler,

Your Dad and Granddad was a kind and generous man who always lightened the room and supported everyone. His favourite farewell was ‘keep smiling’, which always eased my heart and was comforting to hear. Russell was very supportive to me when we lived in St Kilda and later Hampton East when I had two young children, Julian and Benjamin. His obviously had a lot of practical parenting knowledge from raising you both, and appreciated the trials and challenges of raising toddlers as willful and energetic as Julian and Benjamin. When I struggled the most he reminded me nothing really mattered except getting up the next day and keeping on going with a smile. These life lessons he probably learned himself the hard way. He was a dedicated and devoted brother, father, husband and grandfather and we’re all the lesser for his passing.
He will be missed and may he now rest in peace.
