Ian! Dear friend and fellow traveller. Ian and I met in the early 1970s when he was at Leigh Marden at Regents Park. He was a constant friend over all those years as well as his then young family. I spoke to him on Dec 18. We had arranged to meet early in the new year at our favorite pub in Carlton to have our usual . I will still keep that date and raise a glass to a very special person in my life. A man of passion and friendship. Will miss him greatly. Farewell my friend Brett Sowerby> ... What a wonderful man, now sadly gone. My friend for 38 years. Sincere condolences to Ros and family. Ian was a giving person, always the first to volunteer. Through AIP years, his role at VHRR Phillip Island and more recently with the Mission to Seamen he was always present with a big smile and willingness to help. I will miss our chats at Mostly Mozart and over a red wine at Pino's.> ... Read more and post your tribute

Vale 'Fletch'. After our first meeting in Sydney in the early 70's, we lost contact, and both moved to Melbourne. We eventually met again at a dinner with our mutual friend Graeme. Every meeting featured some serious 'mens business', a little red wine tasting, and an enormous amount of laughter and banter. Ian we will dearly miss your enthusiasm for life and your willingness to help others when needed.> ... Read more and post your tribute

Ian and I met at Jacpaper back in 1980s and our paths crossed frequently during that time and after we both moved on. As well as sharing the same birthday we shared a similar sense of humor and managed to keep up the sharing of funnies through e-mail and other means. Lunch was always an occasion to be remembered, unfortunately in recent years covid, etc limited these occasions which I regret. The 21st August was always a competition to see who would ring first. RIP Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate> ... Read more and post your tribute
