Childhood and teenage years in Maymyo. Evacuated by plane from Burma to India in 1943 due to Japanese occupation. Joined the Army whilst in India and transferred to Rangoon, Burma after the War. Emigrated to Perth to join her sister May’s family who had emigrated the year before and were staying in a boarding house. Went to Melbourne and worked as a stenographer. After some time worked for Hogg’s for many years who were in the plastic manufacturing business.
Live in Sandringham and then Berwick.
Travelled on her own to USA, Lourdes and England and later with her sisters to China, Hong Kong, Japan, California and New Zealand.
She was a lover of animals owning many dogs over the years, feeding stray cats, birds and she had chooks and ducks. A green thumbed gardener with a colourful front and backyard. Excellent with handicrafts including pottery, sewing and patchwork quilts, bags and window blinds.
A devout Catholic who attended Mass every Sunday until she could not drive nor walk to church.
