EVANS

Jeffrey

Passed away suddenly at the Alfred Hospital on May 7, 2020 aged 34.

Beloved son of Lyn and Ken (dec).  Adored brother of Michelle, Caroline and Ross. Cherished uncle of Taylor and James, and loyal friend to many.

It is with devastating sadness that we share that our beloved son, brother and friend, Jeffrey William Evans, has died. Jeffrey died of a heart attack on Thursday 7th of May, 2020 surrounded by people who love him.

Jeffrey was a beautiful soul, kind and gentle, witty and clever, creative and courageous, and unique in every way. He struggled throughout his life but never gave up trying to better himself. He was on that journey when he died, supported by people committed to helping him.

Jeffrey was a unique person. He met his kindred spirits in his lifelong friends, and we are forever grateful to them.

We are working through funeral arrangements in this current climate, and we will share information when we can. Please contact us via phone or message us via Facebook if you would like to get in touch.

This poem captures our feelings right now.

Stop All the Clocks.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

W H Auden

But we are not without love and hope. In lieu of flowers or if you would like to contribute to a great cause, please click on the link at the bottom of this post to donate. Any and all funds raised will go to WayOut (Gateway Health). WayOut reminds our local LGBTI young people that they are indeed truly special and valuable, and helps them stay connected and supported. They are even planning a RAINBOW Ball, a celebration Jeffrey would have loved.

Jeffrey taught us many things in his life, including the importance of being YOURSELF. Of letting others be THEMSELVES. Not just letting them, but LOVING their uniqueness, and helping them LOVE their uniqueness too.❤️????????????????????

May the winds of love blow softly, and whisper for you to hear. That we will love and remember you, and forever keep you near.
